Project Overview
The Wall Street Journal required a compelling brand film for their Wall Street Plus digital subscription service. The brief centered on showcasing the subscription’s unique value, highlighting the four distinct digital products that redefine how subscribers interact with premium content. The creative concept revolved around the “plug” as a unifying metaphor—symbolizing connection, empowerment, and seamless access to world-class journalism.
My Contributions
I devised a dynamic image rig that became the foundation of the film’s visual storytelling. The rig was inspired by the plus symbol, expanding into a grid of interconnected nodes to seamlessly transition between the four digital products.Built from the ground up, the rig combined expressions and JavaScript, dynamically linking nodes and image layers into a single, cohesive animation system. This innovative approach ensured precision and flexibility, allowing for effortless movement and synergy between each product. The result was a visually striking, single-controllable animation rig that reflected WSJ’s modern and meticulous brand ethos, delivering a seamless and engaging narrative for their Wall Street Plus subscription service.
